I cabled my canoe to the building so I could explore town without too many worries.

Welcome to the Solo Paddler blog!

The 2021 trip on the Upper Missouri River (starting at the headwaters in Three Forks, Montana) is a continuation of the float I made in 2011. I'm resuming my blog entries from the 2011 trip beginning with trip planning and logistics. When I hit the river I'll post periodic updates, depending on (spotty) cell phone access.

Thanks to all of you that followed my previous adventure and a big welcome to everyone following me in 2021.

About me

Jerry Bricker: Lincoln, Nebraska, United States; In 2011 I completed a 563 mile canoe trip from Nebraska City, NE, to St. Louis, Missouri. At the end of that trip I began to think I needed to do the Upper Missouri to bag the entire river. It's ten years later (and I'm feeling a wee bit older) and I'm ready to finish my goal.
